Fielding Hotel,London,England
"On arrival the reception and hallways look a bit basic - but do not be put off. For the money paid; was expecting a tiny cramped room - but had been allocated a nice sized..."
Wonderfully located in between Long Acre, Drury Lane and Covent Garden, The Fielding Hotel couldn't be situated in a more charming and popular area than this pedestrian street with its 19th century gas lamps, just opposite the Royal Opera House. The historic feel is carried through having been named after the 18th Century novelist Henry Fielding. Amongst the bustle of central London, this is a haven of peace and quiet.
All the 24 ensuite rooms are unique with a choice of single, double, twins and suites. Probably not a child friendly hotel due to the configuration of the rooms, but excellent value for money and excellent guest reviews recommend it for its location appeal, delightfully original decor and warm welcome and attentive staff. The British Museum is easily walkable to the north, the Thames and Southbank Arts Centre with its concert halls, theatres, museum and gallery to the south, and to the west, Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, itself close to Buckingham Palace and Westminster. Other places of entertainment and historical interest abound in all directions.
The Fielding Hotel is also ideally placed for the legal profession being only a short walk from the Royal Courts of Justice, the legal nerve centre of the capital. And for the business person, a little further east lies the heart of London's financial and business activities, the City.
The Fielding hotel advises us it cannot accept children under the age of 6.
